I love this. Over the years, I've taken many pictures from this exact location, and even painted watercolors there, but I never got anything as beautiful as this. The sun never was that far north for me...you did a GREAT job here.

Thanks Douglas! I took this around the end of July - beginning of August. The sun comes up in a good spot for both this location and when up at Glacier Point (coming up behind Half Dome).

Artist's Description

The sun shining/rising over the Yosemite Valley with El Capitan on the left and the Cathedral Rocks on the right. In the foreground is the Merced River. I shot this using a very small aperture to create the sunburst effect. I think it works well for sun shots.
